The Dallas Companion Animal Project Partners represent nearly 100 local animal shelters and animal rescue groups with pets available for adoption across the Metroplex.
According to the Humane Society of the United States, nearly 2.7 million adoptable dogs and cats are euthanized each year in the United States simply because too many people give up their pets, and too few people adopt from shelters. The number of euthanized animals could be reduced dramatically if more people adopted pets instead of buying them.
Animal shelters and rescue groups offer wonderful, fully vetted pets at great prices – much less than buying a pet at a pet store or from a breeder. And by adopting a pet rather than buying one, you know you won’t be supporting a puppy mill.
